The U.S. military stands ready to carry out any decisions President Donald Trump makes regarding matters of war and peace, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told lawmakers Wednesday.
“If and when those decisions are made, the Department (of Defense) is prepared to execute them,” Hegseth said during a hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee.
During the session, Hegseth did not confirm whether the military was preparing strike options specifically targeting Iran. His comments came as part of his testimony to the Senate committee, where he addressed the military’s readiness to respond to presidential directives.
