Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Taiwan Computer and Peripheral and Taiwan Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Giantplus Technology Co Ltd (TW:8105), which rose 10.00% or 1.30 points to trade at 14.30 at the close. Swancor Holding Co Ltd (TW:3708) added 9.97% or 9.00 points to end at 99.30 and Tai Twun Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3432) was up 9.83% or 1.45 points to 16.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ko Ja Cayman Co Ltd (TW:5215), which fell 7.89% or 3.05 points to trade at 35.60 in late trade. Chin-Poon Industrial Co Ltd (TW:2355) declined 7.85% or 2.55 points to end at 29.95 and Chang Type Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1541) down 6.88% or 2.05 points to 27.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.41% or 0.27 to $66.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $68.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 9.20 to trade at $3,345.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.19% to 29.35, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.33% to 0.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 98.19.
