Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Taiwan Semi conductor, Taiwan Electronics and Taiwan Electronical/Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.91% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ichia Technologies Inc (TW:2402), which rose 10.00% or 3.90 points to trade at 42.90 at the close. Taiwan Mask Corp (TW:2338) added 9.95% or 2.90 points to end at 32.05 and HTC Corp (TW:2498) was up 9.93% or 3.75 points to 41.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ITEQ Corp (TW:6213), which fell 5.86% or 5.50 points to trade at 88.30 in late trade. Topkey Corp (TW:4536) declined 5.59% or 10.50 points to end at 177.50 and CyberPower Systems Inc (TW:3617) down 5.20% or 14.50 points to 264.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.27% or 0.18 to $67.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.27% or 0.19 to hit $69.71 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 6.30 to trade at $3,339.00 a troy ounce.
