Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Taiwan Electrics, Taiwan Optoelectronic and Taiwan Information Service sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.25% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chia Her Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1449), which rose 10.00% or 1.20 points to trade at 13.20 at the close. Ritek Corp (TW:2349) added 10.00% or 1.00 points to end at 11.00 and Marketech International Corp (TW:6196) was up 9.97% or 18.50 points to 204.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nanya Technology Corp (TW:2408), which fell 8.91% or 4.20 points to trade at 42.95 in late trade. Sincere Navigation Corp (TW:2605) declined 6.52% or 1.45 points to end at 20.80 and FarGlory Hotel Co Ltd (TW:2712) down 6.17% or 1.40 points to 21.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Shares in Marketech International Corp (TW:6196) rose to all time highs; up 9.97% or 18.50 to 204.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.13% or 0.09 to $68.54 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $70.46 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 6.90 to trade at $3,370.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.04% to 29.25, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.25.
