India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Durables, IT and Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.10%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. (NSE:APLH), which rose 3.67% or 266.00 points to trade at 7,508.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharat Electronics Ltd (NSE:BAJE) added 2.66% or 11.20 points to end at 432.70 and Reliance Industries Ltd (NSE:RELI) was up 1.71% or 25.70 points to 1,526.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nestle India Ltd (NSE:NEST), which fell 2.20% or 54.30 points to trade at 2,411.00 at the close. Axis Bank Ltd (NSE:AXBK) declined 2.14% or 25.70 points to end at 1,173.50 and Shriram Finance Ltd. (NSE:SHMF) was down 1.50% or 10.60 points to 696.25.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which rose 1.69% to 1,526.00, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was up 1.18% to settle at 2,369.00 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which gained 1.06% to close at 12,200.00.
The worst performers were Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which was down 2.17% to 1,173.00 in late trade, Nestle India Ltd (BO:NEST) which lost 2.17% to settle at 2,412.00 and Eternal Ltd (BO:ETEA) which was down 1.21% to 260.85 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1243 to 1144 and 37 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1953 rose and 1897 declined, while 149 ended unchanged.
