India equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Real Estate and Fast Moving Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.63%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index lost 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Eternal Ltd (NSE:ETEA), which rose 3.48% or 10.50 points to trade at 312.55 at the close. Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NSE:REDY) added 1.72% or 21.50 points to end at 1,268.90 and Tata Motors Ltd (NSE:TAMO) was up 1.58% or 10.90 points to 701.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nestle India Ltd (NSE:NEST), which fell 5.57% or 136.50 points to trade at 2,316.00 in late trade. Trent Ltd (NSE:TREN) declined 3.99% or 214.00 points to end at 5,145.00 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (NSE:TEML) down 3.27% or 50.60 points to 1,496.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Eternal Ltd (BO:ETEA) which rose 3.41% to 312.30, Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which was up 1.56% to settle at 701.00 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which gained 0.61% to close at 1,692.80.
The worst performers were Nestle India Ltd (BO:NEST) which was down 5.54% to 2,317.00 in late trade, Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which lost 3.36% to settle at 1,495.10 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was down 1.59% to 2,028.15 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 1481 to 912 and 38 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2298 fell and 1597 advanced, while 156 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
